Grayson College to honor Veterans


Grayson College will honor Veterans on Nov. 7 from 1 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. in the Grayson College Gymnasium.

Each year, Grayson College honors students, staff and members of the community who have served in the United States military. The ceremony is organized by the Grayson College Veteran Services Office.

The 2016 Veterans Day Ceremony will feature remarks by:

·       Dr. Jeremy McMillen, Grayson College President

·       Rear Adm. William A. Retz, United States Navy, Retired

·       Master Sgt. Howard J. Day, United States Army Reserves

In addition, retired Lt. Col. Buddy Merrick, D.D., United States Army, will sing America the Beautiful, God Bless America, and God Bless the USA.

“We are proud of our men and women who have served our nation,” said Dr. Jeremy McMillen, Grayson College president. “We invite the community to join us as we recognize and thank our local heroes.”

The ceremony will also include a presentation to the local military recruiting members in honor of all military in attendance and a presentation of certificates to female Veterans.
